When skimming a magazine (or book or newspaper) do you flip through the pages from front to back or back to front?

How weird, I was just thinking about this. When I'm reading magazines I much prefer to read them backwards. I think this is part of the reason why I like japanese magazines so much
What is one of your favorite poems?
Submitted by marvel is my pen name.
I thank everyone I don’t love.
They don’t cause me heartache
they don’t make me write long letters
they don’t disturb my dreams
I don’t await them anxiously
I don’t read their horoscopes in magazines
I don’t dial their numbers
I don’t think of them.
I thank them a lot
they don’t turn my life upside down.

What were your New Year's resolutions for 2006? How did you do?
fished out from lj:
new years resolutions: draw more, eat less, keep up the exercise regime i kept up for about a month before xmas (slacked off a bit over xmas but did one of my weights workouts a couple of days ago and my muscles don't seem to have withered that much :p), devote more time to my freelancing and building up work on the side, spend more quality time with neil (this will involve surgically separating him from battlefield), stop being lazy about japanese learning. it think that will do for one year.
well, I am exercising a lot more than I ever did; I've ditched freelancing but i'm happier for it; neil and i have gone our separate ways but i guess it was the right thing to do do; and I've been really throwing myself into japanese study.
not bad considering the year i've had...
funny the way things work out.

- Final fantasy series. particularly ff8 which was the first I played and finished. I bought it xmas time when i was living in a student house in gosforth and i'd just got my playstation. it took me ages to get into it - i didn't get the idea of juntioning for ages and i'd never really played RPGs before but once I got sucked in, that was it. heh. mind it did take me about 3 years to finish.... i've finished 9 now and i'm working on 10. yes i know i'm years behind everyone else but i like to take my time and i can go months without touching a game so it takes me a while. i'm excited now about the release of ff3 on the DS.
- Animal crossing - I bought this for my gamecube and now I just play it on my ds. i like wandering round doing nothing, collecting acorns and digging weeds. hehe.
- Quake - before final fantasy, the quake series were the only games i'd actually played through to the end. i have a short attention span... i normally like girly games but i just love quake. i loved playing network quake with my friends even though i was rubbish compared to everyone else. my favourite gun is the super shotgun! i remember my first (and only, hah!) week of uni at leicester in halls I finished quake 3 and was so excited i ran in the kitchen to tell everyone and they all looked at me like i was a big freak :p
- ok i don't have a 4th and a 5th. those 3 are definitely my favourites but the rest i can't order by preference... i loved playing mario games on my gameboy when i was 12 but i've not played it much in recent years. i do love the silent hill series and any scary games like that but i get killed too quickly and i lose interest. i'm currently screaming with frustration trying to progress in project rub on the ds. one of my favourite games while i was at college was a low budget rpg called dink smallwood - google it, you can download it for free! And for the future, i'm eagerly anticipating the release of spore.... waiting for it to be developed for the ds though!

How did you meet your best friend(s)?
I met vicky in nursery school when we were 3 or 4. i remember scowling at her from across the classroom. we went through a childhood of snowball fights and sleepovers and eating jam on toast watching casualty. i fell out with her in high school and wouldn't talk to her for ages but i can't remember why. when we went to uni i got lazy and we didn't really speak for about a year but she's always been the sort of friend i can meet after not seeing for months and it's as if we saw each other yesterday. we were living in flats opposite each other for a while but then we both broke up with our boyfriends and moved out. now we try to meet up once a week for dinner and bitch about work/men/whatever.
i met neil in high school i guess but we didn't really speak much until we went to college. then we had hours long conversations at our meeting place at college and on the phone when we went home. we wrote many emails of made up stories and craziness. he's the one who got me into this whole computer thing after he taught me how to program my calculator. i used to go to the sailing club every wednesday and watch neil and the others do their band practice. i'd sit on the windowsill behind boxit, look out at the sea and nearly get killed by flying drumsticks. we would worship the coffee gods and eat noodles at 3am. he stopped me going crazy (like, really crazy). neil is the only person i've been able to live with and not get pissed off at at some point. We don't speak anywhere near as much as we used to and i miss it but there are reasons of course. still, i hope one day our friendship can be something like it was before everything went crazy. i mean if joey and dawson could work it out then i'm sure we can :p
i met lucy online. she was an online friend of celeste's and we just ended up commenting on each others livejournals. I can't really think how we ended up being such good friends. i guess because we live fairly close we can visit each other pretty often. i've had 2 amazing holidays with lucy to norway and greece. she gets me into trouble but in a good way :p i always know i'll have fun if i go out with lucy. plus nobody else has gone down to the beach by themselves in the middle of the night to find stuff i dropped when i was too drunk to walk, hehe.
There are lots of others of course but i guess these are the 3 i feel closest to. oh and my kitties of course!
